Oak Farm, Falika: A Farm & Cooking Experience on Andros
Oak Farm is a family-owned farm and cooking experience on Andros, shaped by care, patience, and deep respect for the land. Hidden in the gentle hills above the village of Falika, it is a place where daily life follows the rhythms of nature and the seasons.
Falika is a small and authentic village, home to a 1,000-year-old monastery that quietly reflects Andros’ long spiritual and agricultural history. Here, life moves at a slower pace, grounded in tradition and community.
Oak Farm is owned and cared for by Virginia and her family, who are dear friends of ours, and whose lives are deeply intertwined with the land they tend. Using organic farming practices and a thoughtful understanding of natural cycles, they raise animals humanely and cultivate the farm in balance with its surroundings. Visitors are welcomed into this way of life—free to wander the fields, feed the animals, and experience the farm as it truly is.
Ancient oak trees spread their branches across the property, offering shade and stillness. They are both shelter and symbol, grounding the farm in the island’s timeless landscape.
Cooking, Seasons, and Shared Tables:
Food at Oak Farm begins in the soil and ends around a shared table. The farm hosts hands-on cooking experiences for all ages, where guests - children and adults alike - take part in preparing traditional island dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients grown and gathered on the farm
Virginia’s mother, Eleni—an exceptional cook—shares recipes passed down through generations, transforming simple ingredients into meals shaped by memory, place, and season. Cooking here is not a performance, but a quiet, meaningful ritual that reflects Andros’ deep connection between land, food, and family.
A Place for Families to Slow Down:
Oak Farm is especially meaningful for families seeking a gentle, hands-on experience of island life. Children are free to explore, care for animals, and cook alongside adults, while parents settle into the calm of the countryside.
Time here unfolds naturally—harvesting from the garden, preparing meals together, sharing stories, and meeting the people who call this landscape home. Oak Farm offers a way to experience Andros that feels honest and rooted, where nature, tradition, and community come together with quiet ease.
