Exploring Andros Beaches: Our Top Recommendations
Guests often ask us where we love to go, so here are some of our recommendations for the best beaches on Andros. In general, we choose the beach according to our mood, the time we have, and the weather.
Keep in mind that Andros is home to some of the most stunning and unspoiled beaches in the Cyclades, each offering its own unique character. With more than 50 beaches across the island, there is always something new to discover. During the summer season, some beaches have beach bars and music, while others remain completely quiet and untouched. Staying at Ktima Lemonies puts you within easy reach of both quiet coves and livelier stretches of sand—perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking in the island’s natural beauty.
The closest beach is just a seven-minute drive or 25 minutes walk from the estate, making it easy to slip away for a morning swim or a sunset dip. With dozens of beaches across the island, there is always something new to discover, and even after years on Andros, we are still surprised by the beautiful places we continue to find.
Achla Beach – The king of all beaches - Wild and Unspoiled
If you’re in the mood for adventure, Achla Beach is truly unforgettable. Reached either by boat or via a rugged 4x4 dirt road, it remains beautifully uncrowded. The wide, pebbly shore is framed by a river that flows into the sea, creating a lush oasis of plane trees for natural shade.
On calm days, the turquoise water is perfect for swimming. We usually head here when we have a 4x4 and plenty of time- it’s our go-to spot for a raw, untouched experience of Andros.
Zorkos Beach – Wide and Open
Located in the north of the island, Zorkos Beach offers a long stretch of golden sand and crystal-clear water. It’s exposed to the elements, so we tend to avoid it when the north wind (the meltemi) is strong.
On calmer days, however, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. There’s also a small taverna just above the beach, making it an easy choice when we want to pair a swim with a relaxed meal.
Vitali Beach – A Hidden Gem
Tucked between cliffs, Vitali Beach feels like a well-kept secret. Smaller and quieter, it’s especially ideal for snorkeling thanks to its exceptionally clear waters.
In the early and late season, it’s wonderfully peaceful. We love coming here when we’re looking for something more intimate and away from the crowds.
Tis Grias to Pidima – The Iconic Rock
Perhaps the most photographed beach on Andros, Tis Grias to Pidima is instantly recognizable thanks to the dramatic rock rising from the sea just offshore.
The beach itself is small, but the scenery is striking. It’s not always our first choice for a full day by the sea, but for a refreshing swim and a postcard-perfect view, it’s hard to beat.
Gialia Beach – Close and Effortless - feels like a safari
Just a short drive from Andros Town, Gialia Beach is one of the most convenient and easy-going spots on the island. With its long stretch of sand and pebbles, clear water, and relaxed atmosphere, it’s ideal for a spontaneous swim without venturing too far.
There are a few beach bars and tavernas nearby, so it’s perfect when we want something simple and comfortable—an easy beach day with everything within reach.
Chrissi Ammos & Batsi – Family-Friendly Choices
For easy-going days—especially with children—we often recommend Chrissi Ammos (“Golden Sand”) and Batsi Beach. Both are sandy, shallow, and easy to access, with tavernas and cafés nearby.
They’re ideal when we want to combine swimming with a leisurely lunch or an afternoon stroll through the village.

Anaroussa Beach – Easy and Refined
Anaroussa Beach is a comfortable and well-kept spot near Batsi, perfect for an easy, relaxed day by the sea. With its clear, calm waters and organized setting, it’s a great choice when you’re looking for a bit of convenience without sacrificing beauty. We often recommend it on windier days or when the mood calls for something simple and effortless.
